Philosophy
Philosophy is generally understood as consisting of ancient Greek and modern European figures such as Plato, Aristotle, Kant, and Nietzsche. The work of such figures is presented as a decontextualized search for truth, as if philosophical discourse was delinked from the place or the people that gave rise to it. In reality, philosophy has always been a tool of intervention in the specific life-world of communities and individuals, providing a meta-level analysis that both reveals and shifts conventional assumptions. Hence, all philosophies bear the trace of different periods and localities.
